Hiya,
Welcome to the forum... It took us 2 years to get through the approval process as well due to our first social worker having issues with our BMI.... Eventually we got through. We were placed with a little boy 4 months ago. 18 months from approval to placement.
Hope your wait is not too long. There is a wealth of knowledge on here.

Hi ifplus1 I would just like to say congratulations on your approval! That's awesome news! You both must be stoked ;D I'm still yet to attend the information session. Kay congratulations on your placement does it generally take that long for a placement after approval? How old was your son when you got him?

Hi teeny tot,
It depends.... Because you are matched and not placed in order it depends... A very good friend of mine was placed less than a week after going on the CRE whereas I have also heard if others waiting 5 years or not placed at all... I will just say that you may have days where you wonder if it will ever happen (I know I did) but the perseverance is well worth it.
Our little one was 6 and a half months when we were matched and 7 months when we brought him home.. He will be 1 in a week!
Good luck with the info and education sessions and if you have any more questions - please ask

We were matched in six weeks. It was actually a bit quicker than that as we were off the list for three weeks of that time and then overseas for another two. The second time we were waiting nearly 18 months and nothing so it really does depend on what is happening and if there is a match suitable. I know heaps of people who have been matched in less than a month (a couple of same day or the day after approval) and some who never got a match.
