Hi all,
It's been a while since I've been on the forum. We have our 1 year review meeting next week and am just wondering what questions we should be asking?
Cheers

Generally ours went like this: SW asked if anything had changed, jobs, family, relationships. Then how we were feeling about waiting and if we wanted to continue. We then had a general conversation about placements and what was happening across the state and then some specifics about kids that we had either been enquired about or considered for and the reasons they didn't happen. I will say we had a fantastic SW so our conversation was pretty open, not sure for all would be like that.
I suppose the question is what do you want to know? Do you want to know if they have been doing placements and I suppose the biggy which is there any reason why you haven't been placed yet. I asked both of those and while its disappointing, satisfied with the answers and gave us enough encouragement to continue.
You may also want to ask about PC which will increase your chances of placement depending on whether that holds any interest at all. We were approved for both, with a verbal understanding that we were most interested in LA for the first year and then happy to expand to all.

Thanks Googly,
Pretty much what I had in mind.. we are on SW #3 and I feel that she doesn't know us all that well so I'm just concerned. The first time we met (Oct) she accused me of being impatient
DH and I dont want PC it is not us and something that we have discussed at length. Its just not something we feel we could do, and I know of a lot of success stories.
Thanks and I'll let you know how it goes

Kay of course you are impatient, is she kidding?!!! We were lucky to have the same SW the whole way through so knew each other quite well by the time the review meeting rolled around.
I think we PC you either can or you can't so it is good that you explored and discarded and are happy with what suits you guys best.
