Hi Everyone, I had a meeting with my SE yesterday and we sidetracked onto the state of Adoption in Vic. He decides to disclose how many were accredited on the CRE, but he did tell me that this year there has only been 8 adoptions in Victoria (and they don't expect any more this year). Their agency has done 4 of them. Going forward they are expecting this number next year to be between 6 - 8 adoptions. So not much going on at the moment I know we all pretty much knew this anyway, but I thought I'd post it. It is always nice when we are up to date K

Kay, Is your social worker referring to legalised adoptions or adoption placements as I know from a good source that there have been 8 placements this year in one Victorian region alone, so statewide there would have been a lot more. Frankly I think the yearly average is going to be as in previous years around 15-20. So I don't think the situation looks as dire as your social worker makes you believe. Cheers and keep your hope up

Hi Flossy, He said it was for placements. I am wondering if 15-20 includes known adoptions etc... We are not approved yet so don't worry - no hopes are up yet... K
