Hi All,
This looks like a small community but I am hoping to join you all.
After a couple of false starts down the Adoption - LA/PC route in order to start our family. We have attended information sessions a couple of years ago and werent ready to proceed.
I called Connections south and Centacare yesterday and am waiting on call backs from SW to organise information sessions and training.
DH and I have been trying for a family for 9 years
It is so good to see on here people that have been successful in the PC world and I have been reading a few of the different threads on here.
So anyway Hi to you all

Welcome Louise, I hope you are well and you are ready to do lots of paperwork. I have just finished all that and it has taken a while. We are now waiting to be allocated, but then who knows if that will ever happen. I am sorry that trying to have your own children has been a difficult time for you. Most of us here have done all of that and at some point I guess we all said enough!
Our age group is a little older (I am 43), I guess because a lot of us actually either started late or kept going for a while before moving to this process.
I am in the northwest region which is now situated in preston.
Take care, and I am sure you will get whatever you want out of this site.
Waiting.

Thanks waiting.
I guess I am lucky in that DH and I married when I was 20 and knew we would need IVF straight away
I am pretty sure we are going to go through Centacare to do both PC and LA also I have a couple of people I have know say they are fabulous.
I am really happy to have found this site, thanks for the welcome.

Hi Louise, Welcome to the forum, with your age you should have quite good chances for adoption and even though we went through another agency and recently got lucky from experiences here on the forum Centacare are very good and efficient, saying that of course it always depends on the individual situation, but Centacare is a lot beeter funded than the DHS agencies.

Thanks Flossy... I am still hoping to talk to connections but really want to do the LA/PC apps together.
