It is interesting that a name has such an impact. I would have rather seen that as a minor issue, but I guess I have to revise this opinion hearing China is obviously struggling with it. I guess a name gives you identity, just like when changing your name when getting married, you are a part of an entity, a family now.
So Googly your age restrictions the second time around are the same they gave us the first time around, but it does happen, Doris little boy (pc) was 4 month when she got him.

We were able to start again as soon as the court order was through as our daughter was already two years. That was last year, but we haven't been able to face the process until now!
Technically we could have started early last year, but it took ages to get through court. I think you are allowed to go again once the first order is finalised and your child is two - because of the two year spacing rule.
I think the name is such a huge deal as it establishes you as a family. My hubby, me and now my daughter have one name, I wouldn't want any further children to have something different as it is a huge part of a family identity. Whether they want to keep it forever would be a choice to be made when they are old enough.

Hi Guys
Intermittent attendance - apologies! In answer to Goggly (I think) our son was 5 months old at placement (PC), so its been very much like an adoption in that regards. In fact I usually say t people if it comes up that he is adopted, rather than go through the whole explanation re pc. A lot of people when you talk about pc (especially other parents when you get to school age) just don't really get it, and often assume that its like foster care, and I've found this to be hurtful at times (like they're thinking "well, they're not really yours then are they" etc) whereas people seem more understanding of adoption process.
Haven't got any further with the passport stuff yet, though I've got some preliminary info - will keep you posted!
All the best Dan
