Hi all
I am at the pointy end of my permanent care application and hope to be appearing before the panel soon! While I have become a little superstitious and don't want to jinx it by pre-empting next steps, I am keen to hear how others went about announcing their news once they were approved, beyond the people you've already shared the process with. Did you announce it just like you would a pregnancy announcement? What kind of language did you use? Or did you keep the news low key and told people/plan on telling people when you had/have a referral?
Thanks in advance to anyone who is willing to share!

We told our immediate family we were adopting and good friends. I also told my boss in case I had to leave with two days notice (which is what happened). But for what I term "facebook friends" we waited until we had the referral as there was always the chance we would never get a placement.
Think carefully about who you want to know because you will be driven crazy by the questions if you wait is longer rather than shorter. Second time around we've been waiting awhile and eventually got to the stage with a couple of friends where I am dreading catching up as they keep asking what is going on constantly - well meaning but I can't keep answering the same questions!

Most people knew we were adopting, but only family and close friends knew when we were going to panel. We just let them know we were approved ( in those exact words ). It seems we were lucky, we didn't have constant questions about when, how, what. Good luck with everything xo
