With work and family, sometimes it can be difficult to find time for exercise. I know I have gone through many fazes. For example, there was the "eat then burn" idea where I'd eat then i'd exercise an hour to work off what i'd just consumed (this made me think about my food intake and I did make better choices). Then there's the "walk every night" method which is good but for me, somehow I made excuses and stopped. Then there's the gym I joined for a week and just loved, then didn't go back because I told myself "i'd only quit eventually and waste my money". I won't even talk about the exercise bike, Wii and Xbox 360 Connect! lol
Now, as we're getting closer to summer i'm considering getting back into the swing of things again. I have noticed that throughout the entire LA/PC application process I tended to put that above anything else. Exercise went way out the window! Anyway, I think it's time I caught the fitness bug again.
Who is with me?? What do you all do to keep fit? What have you tried? How do we keep it interesting and consistent? Million dollar questions I know!

I'm riding my exercise bike for about 20 to 25 minutes every morning - but it's obviously not enough my shape is the same and the weight is more!
Somebody help me! ;D ;D
with the cold & wet melb weather, the study I have to do for my Bachelor (4th year) and study for my assessment/training cert 4 and work I have almost no time - maybe I need some sort of stand system for my text books while I ride my bike!
Ankles are crap from past injuries so jogging (LOL) is out of question!
I really want a rowing machine because I use to use on at a gym when I was younger and had the body shape I loved!

I am terrible at exercise lol. Especially in winter - I think I get a bit of the winter blues which I am sure exercise would help with but you know - it's a vicious cycle! J was told he needed to do something as his cholesterol wasn't great so he is really putting an effort in to start walking which is huge as he's worse than me about exercise. So we have started walking a few nights a week, approx. 30-40min. Only really twice a week for me as I work 3 days in another town so it's too dark those nights but I need to make an effort to walk on the weekends too....told you I was terrible! Sorry to ramble but I totally get how hard it is some days. I am pining for the longer days to arrive.

Mk75 and you stop stressing about you just chatting. This is a place you can say anything you like, and ramble as much as you like. Get it all out. I am getting frustrated that I start too early and finish too late and it dark whenever I want to do something as simple as a walk. I prefer it. I have a cross trainer and I think eventually it will become an ornament!

Hey guys! Sorry I'm slow to reply, we had a death in the family which completely shook us to the core but i'm back on board now. I think we all have to start somewhere with maintaining our health and if it's 10 minute intervals three times a day on the exercise bike, it's better than nothing! Keep the ideas coming.. There's some great, motivating ideas already.. I feel like dusting off the old exercise bike tonight!!

Might make an effort to go for a walk up the pines this weekend. Our town is surrounded by hills and pine forrest and it's lovely to walk around in. When we first moved here we lived close so I would walk every morning and I lost a few kilos too but I was only working the middle part of the day then and not travelling. Have mentioned it to J and he seemed to be agreeable so I'll let you know how we go! Am thinking it would be a good alternative to the weeknight walk as it's more hilly and we could make it an hour long trek. Is anyone else trying something new this weekend? Good luck!

Really chinababe...I had a look and we are practically the same age - now who's the stalker lol! I am in Victoria...I'll pm you if I can work out how to use it. Well guys we didn't make it up the pines, not even a walk though we had a bit of activity in the garden. Somehow just totally forgot about our intentions to trek. How did everyone else go?

Hiya, mmm exercise. Well I started.....again.... :-) two and a half weeks ago, we are lucky to be quite close to a beach so myself and my dog go for a run every morning at 545am (urgh) but she loves it and now so am I. I find that if we do it in the morning first thing I don't have to worry about it at the end of the day because after work I'm totally knackered and my couch is very comfy ;D
Maybe try in the morning. It sucks to get up but I'm getting used to now and I figure that when we are placed (fingers crossed) I will continue with a walk in the morning with the pram. Or get a fancy jogging stroller.

Girls - I am doing ZUMBA 2-3 times a week - rain hail or shine - it is BRILLIANT and I cant recommend it enough. Coupled with my Liteneasy, since November last year, I have lost 16kgs! You work up such a sweat and feel wonderful afterwards - without ever feeling like you've done a work out - I feel like Ive just been dancing for an hour :-) Its just awesome and I cant recommend it enough...I was told to lose some kgs before/during my assessment which I knew I had to do so I looked towards Liteneasy (also brilliant) and Zumba just topped it off - the weight flew off and now I just maintain with Liteneasy maintenance plus the zumba - not one kg has come back since starting maintenance in May... Good luck xxx
