Hi Everyone,
I have been interested in buying a few books to read and to have around the house and loan to others and am wondering if anyone has some suggestions.
So far I have bought 2 kids books but nothing so far for adults.
Do any of you have any recommendations??
Also, I was considering purchasing a book about child development milestones? is this worthwhile?
Thanks
Kay

Child development? I would think the health nurse will probably help you with this as you do the visits. All kids progress differently. If there is an issue, they will let you know for sure.. Kay.

I'm interested particularly in the childrens book. Mind if I ask which ones you have?

I get a lot of them from thebookdepository.co.uk, they are significantly cheaper and charge no postage. We have a heap of them, and I warn you, I can remember the titles but not always the authors.
A Mother for Choco The Lamb-a-Roo (DD favorite) We Belong Together (Todd Parr) Everyone is Different (Todd Parr) I wished for you A Koala for Katie Horace (I hate that one, it is about a leopard adopted by tigers that runs away to look for other leopards) We are Adopted A Blessing from Above Always and Forever.
And some more!
Honestly though the one she likes best is the story I made for her about her life - her birth mum, her foster parents and then about us meeting her. I have written it like a story book and put photos in it and she knows it off by heart.
As for child development books, the SW will love you if you read a few. My personal view is with Waiting, I think they make you anxious if your child is not doing what the book says and the maternal health nurse/doctor should pick anything up anyway.

Hiya,
Thanks for all the input...
I've been reading a lot about lifebooks which I will definately do because it is so important for their identity, but I wanted just some general ones too.. So far we have
- Whoever you are - Mem Fox - We belong together - Todd Parr
I was also looking at getting: - I wished for you by Marianne Richmond - God found us you by Lisa Bergren
We also have a lot of books from when DH and I were children. One in particular is called Leo the Lop which is about a rabbit who is teased because his ears are different to others but meets a possum who tells him he is no different to the others... it is very sweet. We have most of the nusery rhymes, some paddington books and bath books which we bought when TTC
I read the info on A Koala for Katie but given Katie is my name was unsure if it would be a little cheesy...
Thanks for the websites too...
Cheers, Kay

I bought the Victorian Perm Care books - I think China posted them here somewhere. I also bought a pop out book called 'feelings' (being a psychotherapist want to teach them young about feelings lol).
