Hey people, I know by reading some of the information on the threads posted that some people have been matched , but I would like to know, how many people have been successful and how old they were when that happened? I am still in the mind that if you are over 40 , your chances are pretty slim. Am I being negative or is that the reality of the situation? What do you think? Waiting and over 40!

I CAN'T HELP YOU WITH AN ANSWER TO THAT.I'M 36 AND WE HAVEN'T REALLY EVEN STARTED OUR PROCESS YET.OUR EDUCATION CLASSES ARE NOT UNTIL NEXT YEAR,I WILL BE 37 MID YEAR,HUBBY WILL BE 39.FROM WHAT I HAVE READ IT CAN TAKE UP TO TWO YEARS FROM START TO ACCEPTANCE.IF THAT IS THE CASE HUBBY WILL BE OVER 40 AND I WILL ON THE TIP.I WOULD HOPE THAT OUR AGE ISN'T AN ISSUE AND THEY LOOK AT HOW WONDERFUL WE ARE.IN SAYING THAT IT IS NOT UNUSUAL TODAY FOR WOMEN TO BE HAVING BABIES AT A LATER STAGE IN THEIR LIFE,SO THEY ARE MID-LATE THIRTIES BEFORE THEY REALIZE A PROBLEM IS PRESENT.IT WOULD BE INTERESTING TO KNOW IF THERE ARE ANY COUPLES ON THE LIST THAT ARE UNDER 30. MY ADVICE,DON'T MAKE YOUR AGE AN ISSUE KEEP REMINDING YOURSELF HOW WONDERFUL THE TWO OF YOU ARE,YOU WILL BE PICKED ON WHO YOU ARE AS PEOPLE NOT WHAT YOU LOOK LIKE OR HOW OLD YOU ARE. SX

IT WOULD BE INTERESTING TO KNOW IF THERE ARE ANY COUPLES ON THE LIST THAT ARE UNDER 30. We were told recently no........and that there was only 1 couple younger than us already on the list in VIC (we are 31 + 32). We have had a push to move from PC to LA due to our age. A PC boy we began for all of this for went to a couple 15 years older than us. So age comes into it in different ways.

thanks for the comments Lilchookie. Not sure about the comments you made regarding going from PC to LA due to your age. Why would you need to push for that? It is your choice what programs you would like to be involved in and no one can make that choice except you and your partner.
Also what did you mean by a PC boy you started all this for? Did you meet a little boy and decide you wanted to take care of him?
thanks for clarifying that age can hit in you in different ways...
waiting.

We knew of a young boy in foster care who was being moved to Permanent Care, now he has been placed with a family.
We didn't push for it, we were very strongly encouraged to get LA approval. I guess they want to have what they consider younger people on the list but I also think they see an infant as a better fit for us.
