Well my morning yesterday started off just dandy.I nearly stepped on a bloody snake. I was heading over to the shed and the bugger was having a lovely sunbake. We have a 6ft fence surrounding our house and I swear I cleared it. Once inside I lowered my heart rate then realized Abraham(my beautiful Lab)was still out near the shed. Out I ventured with a huge stick and got him safely in the yard. I am still trying to get over the fright. I miss my unit in the inner city surrounded by concrete. Are there any other city girls who fell madly in love with a farmer, and miss the city life? 8 years I have been living on a farm and I still don't like it. Anyway, it is just the start of the snake season so I have plenty more to see.Gumboots and a big stick are always at the back door. Everyone have a great day. Sx

Classic! I hate snakes too, and I have not seen one recently, our area is prone to having one every now and then.
So you married a farmer! That is wonderful. A great place to bring up a child, but you will need to get over the snakes first before you expect them not to be scared of them.
What do you have pon your farm? Are you growing produce or livestock??
I would prefer a semi rural life. Somewhere sort of in between city and country life! Waiting...

Funny thing,at 21 I left my home town in Vic and moved to W.A because I thought if I stayed I would end up marrying a farmer.7 years later back in Vic,but not my home town, what did I do, marry a farmer.I have nothing to do with the farm side of things I don't want to break my nails(I'm a make-up artist and nail technician)It's not so bad just very quiet and you have to drive everywhere.I have a dog and four cats and If I lived in the city I certainly wouldn't have all my babies.Talk soon,Sx Oh by the way the farm is cattle, dairy and beef but my hubby doesn't do the milking anymore YEH.

Is there a lot of work for your in your country town? How big is your town? A girl I know moved to BoORt and it has a pop of about 1000max. My DH's brother lives in NSW and they are in a place called Gundaroo, pop 300. I am not sure if I want everyone to know me. Does everyone know you Simone?
The suburb I live in has a pop of about 10,000, and that is just about OK. I hope you are well and not letting the little bitty snake upset you...

Yes everyone knows me.It is one of those towns where you scratch yourself and within an hour the whole town knows. It's not too bad a bit clicky, hard for newcomers. When I first arrived it was such a big deal, why is she here?why is she single at her age?Where has she come from?I just tend to stay out of the gossip and everything.Mind you people also know that I will say exactly what I think so they tend to back off a bit.One great example,I was in the supermarket on a busy day, one of the gossips came up to me,patted me on the belly and said congrats I didn't know you were pregnant My quick reply in front of everyone "I'm not pregnant, bit hard without a uterus I'm just fat"Needless to say that woman can no longer look me in the eye.Haha And the little bitty snake huh it was huge and yes I'm still thinking about it. Talk soon Sx

What a classic about the lack of uterus comment in the supermarket! I probably would be a person that will probably do that too! And don't mind me about the snake comment, I would be just as upset, don't you worry. I hate snakes. Today, I went to the Western treatment farm - at werribee where they process the sewage, quite interesting, but at times smelly. Anyone been there pre 2005? Waiting. P.S we were both online last night, but I could not get your attention.

You go to the top of the page under the heading and to the left there is a section that says You have no new pms. Click on it. Then it takes you to a new page. Then click on new message. Try that.
