If anyone is looking to start some buddy groups for their area, where members can get together with other members who are going through or who have already been through the Local Adoption / Permanent Care process, please let me know details such as area, places, days and such and I will create sections on the board for the various area so that members can organise their get togethers.

I would like a buddy group for Melbourne or even more ideal the Western suburbs, but I guess with the current member status this would be a very small buddy group. Guess we will have to wait until we are a bit bigger. Keep recruiting Kim . You are doing a great job! Flossyinoz

My in-laws live in Werribee Of course this doesnt help much as we live in Cranbourne (South-Eastern) I also am a very nervouse driver (I grew up and learnt to drive in a very small Northern Territory Town, so lots of cars freak me out) so I dont drive anywhere. But even though we are a small group at the moment we could still organise buddy groups for the area's we live in, even if its just an internet buddy group for now and then start the getting together buddy groups when there are at least 2 or 3 people in the same area. I'll also keep inviting people to join and if everyone else also invites people then hopefully before we know it we will have a bigger member list and the buddy groups will be able to start forming better. ;D

Hi Kim, Yes I agree - we will grow in time (keep recruiting!) and we can just start out from "meagre beginnings" with groups. Too bad you are so far away. I used to hate driving as in Germany I did not really need a car and we had quite a fabulous transport system compared to here. But as I live in Werribee and work in Parkville it takes me ages to get here by train. So I have switched to car, which is still about an hour with the traffic (would only be half an hour without traffic). But I have not regretted it and though I may not be the best driver in the world i got a lot more confident. So I am sure once in a while I could embark on a treck to Cranbourne Cheers Flossyinoz
