Woo hoo! Finally an answer. At DHS the meetings were weekly and it alternates between the two of you, then each of you separately. No doubt there will probably be at least 2 of each combination. There may be a break due to Xmas but that will give you a rest and time to reflect.
I am really glad to hear that LOuise. Rest assured, you are on your way. What are link meetings? Waiting.

Hi waiting
Weve been told that we'd have one individual meeting each and then 1 or 2 meetings together plus the home visit.
Our SW has told us that she is not taking leave through christmas so there should not be too much delay there.
A link meeting is when they ling a couple to a child.. not sure who that involves but it sounded like there is a bit going on at the moment.
Cheers,
L

Girls a link meeting is when they actually go through the process to select a family for an available child. Usually three profiles are selected by the SW based on the wishes of the birth family and then presented for selection to the family.
In the case of PC the SW may make a decision for the family. Then the new family meets the child and starts the handover to bring them home. It is the most exciting part of the whole process!
Good luck with the meetings Louise, once they actually start they are pretty quick.

I guess if you are with Centacare, then these babies are not available to DHS? I am so confused, are they all together or not??

From what I understand, everyone is on the central register and whoever matches and then gets selected is linked

Louise, it is natural to be a little nervous, but DON'T. The people doing these sessions are experienced and know how to ask questions as not to make you feel uneasy or embarassed. I found these meeting quite fun. It gave me an opportunity to reflect on my life and my goals for being a mum and it gave me some insights into myself from another persons point of view.
There is nothing to feel nervous. It is an opportunity for them to actually meet you face to face. Make some coffee and muffins and just see it as a coffee date with some new friends. When you make new friends you always ask each other questions to learn about one another. The only difference here is they will be asking most of the questions, but you will still be having coffee and cake....
Relax now and you will enjoy the experience. We will discuss it after you have your first session and you will kick yourself for being so nervous!
