Re: Suspended Program « Result #1 on Dec 11, 2009, 8:49pm »
Ethiopia requested a formal aid agreement as part of the adoption arrangement. Our government has concerns that such an agreement would breach the Hague Convention which guards against improper financial gain from adoption. I don't think an aid agreement to help with community development in Ethiopia is "IMPROPER" It is a third world country for goodness sake. And if financial aid helps to place those beautiful children into homes and be removed from overcrowded often squalor conditions in orphanages, why not??????????

Ethiopia requested that Australia enter into a formal agreement to provide community development assistance - which would have some sort of link to the program.

How upsetting to hear the Federal Attorney-General has suspended the adoption program with Ethiopia. My thoughts are with those who are waiting for allocation, lets hope the Government will start to use there heads and the suspension will be lifted soon Sx

It took a few hours but we have just built a new extension and we were just about to put in a wooden floor and now the concrete is wet. We will have to wait a while before we can do that now. What a week of rain and damage.... Waiting... Still waiting for some news from the social workers. Not a peep.

And having a month worth of rainfall in a night and day in Melbourne is probably not that normal either - but weather patterns have been really strange all over the world, northern England for example is flooded. Global Warming, I don't know, maybe just every so and so many years the weather goes nuts?!?

Hi Guys, how odd is this weather?Hubby and I sat up last night and watched a storm, just lightning. No wind or rain just this amazing light show.I went to bed at about 1am,lighting had moved on and all was calm.Woke at 2:20am to 80km winds and the temp had jumped from about 20 to 28.9(Being married to a farmer we have a weather station)I thought I was having a hot flush.Ha Ha.This type of weather is very unusual for our area.We don't get great summer weather here,it might be hot for a few hours but then the sea breeze wanders in.Anyway, day off today,I'm going to get out in the garden, rain is forecast for the w/end.All enjoy Simonex

I am sorry to hear that early menopause is causing such a problem for you. I had no idea that your teeth may be affected. I guess I always thought that menopause really meant just being hot and cold and all over the place and just being irritable??. Can someone tell me the sort of symptoms they have been experiencing? I thought I may warn my husband that the bitchiness will get worse.....??? Waiting

Hey,Flossyinoz thanks for your imput.I'm a bit like you when it comes to HRT,will try anything and everything before having to go on that.I have all the symptoms you can think of,but I have been able to cope ok on herbal remedies.I will wait and see what my bone scan reveals. Every woman is different my mum is going through menopause at the same time and she is just breezing through it.Not fair but great bonding experience. Keep well SX

Well guess I am one of the lucky ones, did not have a hysterectomy, but have entered menopause in early 40ties. Bone Density test a couple of years ago showed osteopena (pre osteoporosis) in the hip, have not had one since, probably should.
I am refusing traditional HRT with estrogen which almost every GP or women's health center has recommended , far too cancer dangerous.
Am now on bioidentical hormones, progesterone cream and DHEA (precursor to testosterone and estrogen), no estrogen (the one that causes cancer) and lots of herbal remedies eg Remifemin a phyto estrogen, Calcium Vitamin D etc. I have no menopausal symptoms at all any more, so it definitely works.
Bioidentical progesterone cream is said to actually build up bone density, not only maintain it.

Hi Simone I know exactly where your coming from. i was on HRT straight after my hysterectomy. I went through a hell of a time while on them. so i am totally off them now, what i do take is calcium tablets vitamin b and d and have a bone density test every year. so far so good. i had my op in 2001 was on HRT for 3 years been off them and controlling it myself and my GP for the past 5 years and all is good so far.
